Hello virtual students and parents! I am excited about being your third grade teacher. I have been an elementary teacher for 16 years, 14 of those years as a third grade teacher. I have also taught second grade for a short time. I started my career with Shelby County Schools (in West Tennessee). My family and I moved to Rutherford County in 2016. My husband's name is Dexter, and I have two children - Dacia, age 25, and Landyn age 8. I also have a stepdaughter Aleisia, age 27. Prior to being a teacher at The Virtual School, I taught at Rock Springs Elementary. My mantra this year is to teach with an “attitude of gratitude!” Wise words that resonated with me from a teacher friend at RSE. Why is an attitude of gratitude important? Simply stated, I feel grateful and blessed for this opportunity to work with such a unique group of students. I am also honored to be a part of the amazing staff at The Virtual School. Thank You virtual families for this experience. I am super excited about this new journey and look forward to getting to know you. Go Trailblazers!
