Mr. Porterfield - Fine Arts

     Mr. Wendell Porterfield was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and has been active in the Arts since a very early age.  Mr. Porterfield began singing at age six, and began playing the guitar at age eight.  He studied Music at Middle Tennessee State University where he earned his Bachelor's of Music and a Recording Industry Management Minor.  After graduation, Mr. Porterfield toured (electric lead guitar) with a couple of independent artists and has traveled the world playing guitar and entertaining!  

     Mr. Porterfield has enjoyed Art since middle school and high school.  In addition to private Art lessons, he was part of the Murfreesboro Art League and has had his paintings place and win awards at the Tennessee State Fair.

     Mr. Porterfield became a certified Music Teacher in Phoenix, Arizona where he started as a Music Educator teaching strings, class guitar, and general music.

     Mr. Porterfield moved back to Murfreesboro two years ago and is very excited to be the Fine Arts Teacher for the Rutherford County Virtual School.  Go Trailblazers!
