Trauma-Informed School

RCVS is proud to be one of the 176 trauma-informed schools in Tennessee. We strive to provide a safe space for every Trailblazer because we know that learning virtually can be a daunting task in an isolated environment. We recognize that each Trailblazer has a unique circumstance, and through a trauma-informed approach, we provide various tools and opportunities for the social, emotional, mental, and physical well-being of our students. 

We understand the importance for students to make connections with their peers and teachers; therefore, we provide numerous social-engagement opportunities for our students. "In Tennessee, the model trauma-informed school designation recognizes schools for their emphasis on implementing trauma-informed strategies to provide critical supports for students. Schools implementing trauma-informed approaches have seen improvements in school climate, attendance, and teacher satisfaction, while seeing a reduction in suspensions and expulsions, stress for staff and students, and more."
