High School Mathematics
I am super excited to teach Algebra 1 and 2 students at the virtual school this year. I grew up attending schools in Smyrna. I attended Smyrna Primary, David Youree, Smyrna Elementary, Thurman Francis, Smyrna Middle School, and Smyrna High School. After high school, off to MTSU I went where I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Upon graduation from MTSU I accepted my first job offer teaching at Greenbrier High School and began a family of my own. Teaching and raising a family were always a goal growing up. After five years there in Greenbrier I had a call from the principal of Lavergne High School. He was looking to add a math growth position. Loving Rutherford County, I quickly accepted that offer and stayed at LaVergne High School for ten years. In my last four years at Lavergne I served as the school’s graduation coach. During this time, I was able to obtain my Masters in Supervision and Administration also at MTSU. My children attended Central Magnet School and when that door opened with an available math position, I could not pass up what ended up being a nine-year journey teaching where my very own kids attended and graduated from. I have new goals and in fact just this year obtained a graduate certificate in Mathematics at Austin Peay State University. My love for math and expertise gained over the years will continue to be passed on to the students of Rutherford County Virtual School.
