RCVS Class Scheduling
An ideal virtual school student is a student who is self-motivated, responsible, and diligent at the completion of assignments. This is the reason that there are certain requirements in place for admission. Our high school curriculum through the Pearson Platform is very rigorous. Online classes are typically more difficult than in-person classes because the student does not have a teacher with him/her to provide immediate assistance. Students need to be mature and self-disciplined or they will struggle to keep up with the pace in each of their classes. Successful students are typically working at least 6.5 hours a day, working ahead of schedule, and have parents, guardians, and/or learning coaches who are actively involved in making sure students are completing assignments. The online teachers have Live Lessons at least once a week, however, the student must be a self-advocate to seek online help when needed.
