What Is Connection Friday?

Every person has an innate desire to belong somewhere, to connect with someone. Human connections are crucial in our students’ development. An immediate assumption one could make about virtual schooling is that students are limited in their abilities to make social connections—not at RCVS. We do things differently by blazing the trail for what virtual learning can and should be. Every Friday, we provide connection opportunities for our students through our Connection Fridays.

With the input from our RCVS community, we have implemented Connection Fridays to provide our students opportunities to connect with their teachers, peers, and community through an array of activities. Students engage in comfortable and safe environments—virtually or in-person—during activities of their choosing. There are activities that cater to all our students. Whether they enjoy reading, sports, music, art, gaming, nature, community outreach (and much more), there is a place where they will be welcome. We connect students together in organic ways and allow them to craft relationships with each other. This is our focus for every Friday.
